Open call for a fully funded 4 year PhD position, supervised by Dr. Anthony Kiely at the School of Physics, University College Cork, Ireland. The project is in the area of theoretical quantum physics, so an undergraduate degree in physics or related discipline is an essential prerequisite. Experience with quantum optics and programming (e.g. Python, Mathematica etc.) would also be beneficial. The project will investigate new methods for modelling continuous quantum measurements and leveraging these results for quantum feedback control.

We are inviting applications to fill a PhD position to join the theory research group led by Carlos Gonzalez-Ballestero at Vienna (Austria). The group is affiliated with the Institute for Theoretical Physics of the Vienna University of Technology and part of the Vienna Center for Quantum Science and Technology. The candidate will work on theoretical quantum optics and magnonics and collaborate with experimental groups.

The position is part of the project “Exploring Non-Classical Correlations with Randomized Measurements: A Modern and Unified Approach to Revealing Non-Classical Correlations Without Reference Frames”, funded by the National Science Centre in Poland.
