The quantum walk is regarded as the quantum counterpart of the classical random walk. The quantum walk forms two parts: the discrete and the continuous. The walk is intensely investigated in the literature due to its connection with quantum computing, for example in the design of algorithms. The time evolution of the quantum walk can either be continuous or discrete. The connection between the discrete and continuous time quantum walk has been established. Experiments are being designed and in some cases already performed to implement the quantum walk. The quantum walk is studied on various topologies. The aim of this workshop is to bring together the theoretical and experimental researchers who study the quantum walk in the sense of “applied mathematics”, i.e. mathematics, quantum computation, and applications. The organizer strongly encourages young researchers as well as leading figures in the field to actively join this workshop, and make a presentation.
