We are happy to announce the opening of the call for applications for the 2014/15 edition of the Doctoral Programme in the Physics and Mathematics of Information: Foundations of Future Information Technologies (DP-PMI).

The DP-PMI aims at providing advanced curricular and research training in the recent developments and fundamental challenges in information sciences and technologies. The DP-PMI is hosted by [http://www.ist.utl.pt/en/ Instituto Superior Técnico (IST)], the School of Science and Engineering of the University of Lisbon, in Portugal, and [http://www.dp-pmi.org/faculty.html eight associated research centres]. The programme is [http://www.dp-pmi.org/support.html funded mainly] by a 2.2 MEuro grant from the [http://www.fct.pt/index.phtml.en Portuguese Science Foundation (FCT)]. The first DP-PMI class has been selected and will start in January 2014. The programme will recruit up to 30 more students over the next four years, with the last DP-PMI class expected to graduate in 2021.
