The conference covers the main topics of quantum thermodynamics. In particular questions regarding the emergence of thermalisation in quantum systems, the interplay of information and thermodynamics in quantum systems and devices (e.g. quantum thermal engines), and the according experimental implementations.

Continuing the popular series of Heilbronn quantum algorithm meetings, the meeting showcases recent highlights in the field. We have three days of outstanding speakers invited from around the world to talk about their recent work. As in previous and meetings, we expect the discussions to be lively and informative!

I am announcing 6th Working Group Meeting of COST Action MP1209 "Thermodynamics in the Quantum Regime". We have an excellent complement of speakers lined up and this meeting promises to be an exciting one.

Quantum Machine Learning is a newly emerging interdisciplinary research area investigating how quantum information can solve pattern recognition tasks in machine learning. It draws on other related fields such as quantum algorithms, quantum optimisation and quantum probability theory.

The first Q+ Hangout of the year is on the 26th of January!

Abstract submission for oral presentation is now closed. Abstract submission for poster presentation will be reopened from 2 May onwards.

The Conference will continue the work of the Italian Quantum community and agenda, first set in Camerino in 2008 and then continued in Pisa (2009), Torino (2010), Vietri (2011), Padova (2012), Como (2013), Salerno (2014), and Monopoli (2015). It aims to bring together many researchers from Italy and around the world. Young researchers, postdocs and students will have the opportunity to meet active research groups and establish collaborations.

Many-body physics with photons and polaritons is a highly interdisciplinary field, merging diverse areas such as nano-photonics, quantum optics, condensed matter physics, and quantum technologies. The inherent accessibility to local observables, and the ability to probe out-of-equilibrium phenomena make driven many-body photonic systems especially promising for a variety of applications in quantum simulations and quantum computing, as well as in materials science and optical circuitry.
