About us:
Planckian is the first world’s company committed to developing quantum batteries, a new class of devices that can exploit quantum physical effects to manage energy more efficiently.
** We are currently seeking a Quantum Simulation Scientist to join our team. **
Your role:
The European Space Agency's Advanced Concepts Team (https://www.esa.int/gsp/ACT/) is looking for a highly motivated young researcher with an interest in quantum technology – including quantum computing, communication and sensing – and foundational questions in quantum information theory. The precise areas of research will be partly chosen by you based on your expert judgements and insight into trends and developments, and partly chosen by the team so as to follow the Agency’s strategic directions.
The junior research group of Dr. Ondřej Černotík at Palacký University Olomouc invites applications for one PhD student and one postdoctoral researcher position. The successful candidates will conduct theoretical research at the interface of quantum optics and quantum technology in hybrid quantum devices comprising superconducting circuits, trapped ions, and levitated nanoparticles.
Our two-semester long QClass23/24 will be conducted from Sep 2023 to May 2024. Throughout our QClass, we will deliver (i) two introductory courses on quantum computing, programming, and algorithms, (ii) four intermediate level self-study modules on different quantum topics, (iii) one QJam on quantum games, and (iv) several online talks. Based on partnerships, we will organize more activities.
Registration deadline: September 10, 2023
The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Department of Physics invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in experimental quantum information science, broadly defined, to begin in or before August 2024. Candidates should have a PhD in Physics or a closely related field. We seek candidates who have the capacity to establish a vigorous, externally funded research program and who will also contribute to the diversity and excellence of the department in teaching, mentoring, and service.
We offer Ph.D. positions in quantum foundations, quantum information theory and gravitational quantum physics. The positions are associated with the research groups of Č. Brukner (https://www.iqoqi-vienna.at/research/brukner-group), B. Dakić (https://dakic.univie.ac.at/) and M.
The Quantum Control Laboratory, School of Physics at the University of Sydney, offers PhD scholarships and postdoctoral positions (experiment and theory) in quantum simulations of chemical dynamics (recent work: https://arxiv.org/abs/2211.07320). This research is in collaboration with Prof. Ivan Kassal at the School of Chemistry.
