As the first research institute for basic sciences in the nation, Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS) was founded in 1996 by Korean Government to promote excellence in the basic science research. Located in Seoul, KIAS provides a unique research environment, where its members as well as visitors can enjoy constant academic stimuli and friendly administrative support.

1. Position Details
□ Position: QUC Fellow
□ School/Center: Quantum Universe Center
□ No. of openings: 1
□ Research Field: quantum computing, quantum communication, quantum metrology, and theory of quantum information

2. Required Qualifications
□ Those with or expected to receive their Doctoral degrees in the relevant majors by starting date at KIAS
□ Qualified under “State Public Officials Act” of Korean Government. (Disqualifying factors are listed in Article 33.)
□ Those with no restrictions to international travel, and for Korean male citizens, those who have completed or have been exempted from compulsory military service

3. Terms of Appointment
□ Period of Appointment: The initial appointment for Research Fellow is for two years with the possibility of a one-time renewal of two or three additional years depending on research performance and the needs of the research program at KIAS.
□ Salary & Benefits:
- The annual salary and other benefits are provided in accordance with KIAS regulations.
- The annual salary is around 70,000,000 Korean Won, determined by project funding, including severance pay and 4 major social insurances.
- An individual research grant(Up to 15,000,000 Korean Won) and a benefit card(2,000,000 Korean Won) will be provided each year.
- Benefits include the coverage of 4 major social insurances; national pension, health insurance, employment insurance, and industrial accident compensation insurance.
