In the Theory of Cold Atoms group of Prof. Uwe R. Fischer at Seoul National University, a Postdoc position is open in the field of quantum simulations of curved spacetimes (aka analogue gravity). Previously demonstrated experience in the latter field and its implementations in various systems is required, such as in ultracold dilute quantum gases, ion traps, polariton condensates etc., and is to be documented in published form.
Possible topics of research in my group, among others, include implementations of analogues of trans-Planckian physics in cosmology and in Hawking radiation of sonic black holes, the proper treatment of the quantum backreaction problem, information scrambling by analogue black holes, and analogue gravity in nonlinear media.
Initial appointment is for one year with a possible extension to two years.
Salary is according to the Korean postdoc salary scale.
