Applicants are sought for a postdoctoral position in the field of condensed matter physics and quantum many-body modelling, to develop novel computational methodology for large-scale strongly interacting electronic problems. The positions are to be held at King’s College London, UK, in the research group of Dr. George Booth.
The project will involve the development of novel wave function-based methodology for hamiltonian interpolation, relying on machine-learning and a broad range of wave function methodologies. We aim to apply these ideas to correlated systems, both lattice models and ab initio materials of technological interest, working in a research group spanning these interests, and a wider London-based materials modelling environment with excellent collaborative opportunities.
The candidate should have a strong track record in scientific programming, with desirable experience in machine learning and/or theoretical modelling and development in quantum many-body problems from a condensed matter or theoretical chemistry background, with application to correlated materials, molecules or lattice models.
