Postdoctoral position in theoretical quantum metrology and sensing

We are pleased to announce that Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) located in Daejeon, South Korea is seeking to fill a theory postdoc position. Our institution is searching for a highly motivated, well-qualified, and independent scientist who has a keen interest in theoretical quantum sensing and metrology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their academic career within a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, which allows for diverse opportunities to work with other theorists and experimentalists at KRISS or other places in South Korea.

The initial term of appointment for this position is two years (1+1) with a flexible starting date. The position is renewable on a yearly basis contingent upon funding and successful performance. This position will remain open until filled.

To be considered for this position, applicants should have obtained a Ph.D. degree within the last five years or soon to be completed in physics, mathematics, computer science, or related fields. A strong background in theoretical quantum optics and quantum information science is required. In addition, proven expertise in analytical and numerical methods in specific research topics/fields, including quantum parameter estimation, Bayesian parameter estimation, multi-parameter estimation, quantum illumination/radar/lidar, and quantum imaging is highly valued, along with good communication and writing skills.

One of the primary research directions of this position will be related to distributed quantum sensing, and you'll have the chance to develop your skills in a range of related fields. We encourage qualified candidates who are interested in this exciting opportunity to apply.
