Job description:
The postdoc will analyze the quantum mechanical motion of cold trapped ions, their nonlinear interaction with discrete ion states, including numerical modelling, and applications of quantum metrology to engineered quantum nonlinear couplings. This research will be supported by the project mQ-net of the Operational Programme Research, Development and Education, and possibly also by other grants and projects. The postdoc will collaborate with the theory group at Department of Optics, Faculty of Science, Palacky University Olomouc led by Prof. Dr. Radim Filip (http://muj.optol.cz/filip/) and with the experimental groups at this department (dr. L. Slodička) and also at the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Brno (dr. O. Číp) involved in the project mQ-net. Prof. Dr. Radim Filip is a mentor for this position.
Requirements:
Ph.D. in Physics;
Specialization in quantum optics, quantum information, light-atom interaction and quantum metrology;
Publication track-record in the field of quantum optics, quantum information, light-atom interaction and quantum metrology;
Ability to communicate in English.
