The successful candidate will be expected to contribute strongly to maintaining and enhancing the School’s high standards in teaching and research. Candidates should have a commitment to high-quality teaching in service and honours mathematics to a broad range of students.
Salary will be within the professional range, minimum £56,467 per annum depending on skills and experience.
At the University of Nottingham, the School of Mathematical Sciences was ranked 8th nationally by Research Power in the 2008 RAE, with over 60% of its research rated as “world leading” (the highest possible rating) or “internationally excellent”. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a commitment to building a group working in applications of mathematics with strong potential for interaction with existing and developing research activity across the School (which includes an active Quantum Information group within Mathematical Physics http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/mathematics/research/researchgroups.aspx ).
Candidates should hold a PhD or equivalent in mathematics or a related subject and have a record of publishing research of international quality that complements existing activity within the School. As part of our commitment to promoting diversity we encourage applications from women.
