We are looking for for a postdoctoral researcher (2 years) with a background in quantum optics or strong field physics and a strong interest in interdisciplinary research. The key aim of the project “Strong field physics with nonclassical light fields” is to investigate the interaction of strong, nonclassical light fields with matter. The successful applicant is expected to apply and develop numerical and analytical methods of theoretical quantum optics to describe light-matter interactions with large photon numbers. In a second step, we will then explore possible applications in photonic quantum technologies.

If you have any questions or wish to apply for this position, please send an email to: frank.schlawin@mpsd.mpg.de
Applications should include a cover letter, a tabular curriculum vitae, and copies of degree certificate(s).

Requirements
A university degree in a relevant field plus doctorate. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for the role. Research experience in theoretical quantum optics, ultrafast optics, or strong-field physics would be highly desirable.
