Job type:

Application deadline:

Thursday, December 1, 2022

The Quantum Information Center and the Center for Complex Quantum Systems at UT Austin invite applications for two postdoctoral positions in Quantum Information Science and Quantum Many-body Physics, under the supervision of Scott Aaronson, Nick Hunter-Jones, and Matteo Ippoliti, to begin in Fall 2023.

We invite applications from diverse areas of theoretical physics and theoretical computer science, especially quantum information and computation, quantum complexity theory, quantum dynamics/non-equilibrium physics, topological and strongly-correlated matter, and quantum simulation. Applications from candidates interested in the intersection of different subfields are especially encouraged.

Other UT faculty with overlapping research interests include Eslam Khalaf, Allan MacDonald (condensed matter theory), Elena Caceres, Andreas Karch (high energy theory), Shyam Shankar and Edoardo Baldini (quantum experiment). Collaborations with the broader quantum community at UT are encouraged.

Postdoctoral appointments are expected to begin in Fall 2023. The term of the appointment is two years, renewable for a third year. The positions will have a competitive stipend and research/travel budget.

For full consideration, applications should be received by Dec 01, 2022. Applications will be considered until the positions are filled. Candidates should include a cover letter, CV, research statement, list of publications, and three letters of reference with their application.
