Theory and Experiment

We are the newly founded group at Data Storage Institute at Agency for Science and Research. Our main focus is generation and application of nonclassical light to quantum information processing with a special interest to broader applications.

Devoted to theoretical and experimental studies of control and manipulation of quantum systems which are of interest in quantum information.

The Centre for Quantum Dynamics undertakes experimental and theoretical studies of the dynamics (the motions, and energy and momentum exchanges) of systems of particles whose behaviour is governed by quantum mechanics. Specifically, the Centre activities include research in laser and collisions atomic physics, quantum optics, atom optics, quantum mechanics and quantum computing.

We're growing into two groups, at the moment, with one focused on foundations and one focused on nanotechnology with some focus in quantum information. We'll be updating things soon.

Our nanotechnology group has members from the departments of physics and chemistry as well as representatives from industry. Our foundations group is a loose amalgam of folks from physics, chemistry, computer science, math, and philosophy.

The Institute for Quantum Information Science is a multidisciplinary group of researchers from the areas of Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics. The goals of Calgary's Institute for Quantum Information Science are to conduct leading research in key theoretical and experimental topics of quantum information science, to provide excellent education and training in quantum information and cognate areas, and to foster linkage between the Institute and other quantum information institutes and with industrial partners.
