In the framework of the European School of Antennas, we are pleased to inform you that the course "Quantum Electromagnetics - Modeling the Nanoscale in the Real World" will be organized by the ELEDIA Research Center at the University of Trento (ELEDIA@UniTN) in collaboration with Prof. Amir BOAG of the Tel Aviv University.
The course will take place at the Sala della Cultura @ Centro Rainalter, Via Pradalago 8, Madonna di Campiglio (Trento), Italy, in the week 21-25 November 2022 and will have a hybrid model (on-site participants and on-line participants).
Starting from a brief introduction to the theoretical foundations of the quantum electromagnetics (QEM), the course lectures will deal with the study of the quantized EM field and radiation, their description through quantum Maxwell's equation, and the modeling at the nano-scale through quantum numerical methods. In addition, selected examples of quantum technology as applied to real-world topical examples (e.g., quantum radar/lidar, quantum key distribution, and quantum computing for imaging and antenna design) will be overviewed.
The course fee is:
- 440 EUR for on-site participants coming from no-profit institutions;
- 220 EUR for on-line participants coming from no-profit institutions;
- 880 EUR for participants from industry and for-profit institutions.
For the on-site participants, the fee includes the course teaching and the material, lunches, coffee breaks, and social dinner. In all cases, video registrations of the classes will be available for 2 weeks after the event.
The final program of the course, including academic and industrial lectures, is available here:
