Second Workshop on Theory and Realisation of Practical Quantum Key Distribution

Acronym:

TropicalQKD2010

Organising group(s):

PICQUE Workshop in Integrated Quantum Photonics

Registration deadline:

Thursday, April 29, 2010

The application for the second workshop on Theory and Realisation of Practical Quantum Key Distribution (TropicalQKD 2010), to be held at the Institute for Quantum Computing, University of Waterloo, Waterloo ON, Canada, is now open.

The workshop is devoted to all aspects of practical QKD, focussing on the latest developments in all its subfields. The workshop will bring together experimentalists and theoreticians who are interested in efficient and practical implementations of QKD.

Topics of discussion will include:
* Side channels in QKD
* Market analysis/User scenarios/QKD in classical (security) infrastructures/Standards
* Satellite QKD
* Enabling technologies
* Software protocols and finite size effects
* New theoretical scenarios and technologies

The programme will consist of invited oral presentations and contributed posters. All participants will have the opportunity to present a poster which will be displayed for the full duration of the workshop. Together with the confirmation email on May 7th we will ask for abstracts of these posters.

The number of participants in the workshop is limited. Preference will be given to those researchers who are active in the field of QKD. There will be no conference fee charged. Meals will be provided. The workshop will start with registration and lunch at noon on June 14th, and end with lunch on June 17th. People who require a visa to enter Canada are encouraged to submit their application early.
