We are looking for new postdoc who has the sufficient background to work closely with one or more of the senior members in our group, and at the same time can bring their own character to the research. The position is initially for one year, with possible extension. The preferred starting date is 15 October 2018.
Our group has expertise in multiple related theoretical areas including quantum walks, iterated open quantum systems and quantum optics. We also have a strong cooperation with an experimental group on optical realizations of quantum walks.

Sensor systems have emerged that exhibit extraordinary sensitivity for detecting physical, chemical, and biological entities at the micro/nanoscale. Particularly exciting is the detection and analysis of molecules on miniature devices that have many possible applications in health, environment, analysis, and security.

Quantum machine learning arises from the interplay of two fields of research, each one challenging in its own right: on the one hand, classical machine learning and artificial intelligence; on the other, quantum physics, with its growing list of fundamental insights and technological applications. This combination gives rise to fascinating possibilities and diverse lines of scientific inquiry.
