A 2-year Postdoctoral position in Theoretical Quantum Optics of Quantum Many-Body Systems is available at the University of Oxford. The deadline is 19 May 2013.

The project’s target is merging quantum optics and many-body physics of ultracold quantum gases, using theoretical methods of atomic and condensed matter physics. The post-holder will address phenomena, where the quantum natures of both light and ultracold matter play equally important roles.

Submission deadline:

Thursday, May 30, 2013

Registration deadline:

Thursday, May 30, 2013

The meeting will focus on the latest achievements in the rapidly growing field of quantum engineering with a particular emphasis on the most recent advances in the broad field of atomic physics, including precision measurements; ultracold Bose and Fermi gases; ultracold molecules; quantum simulators and quantum information with atoms and ions; quantum optics. This year the conference is a satelite meeting of a BEC 2013 Conference to be held in Sant Feliu de Guixols (Spain).

The ANR Retour des postdoc NLQCC aims to study the foundations of quantum information from the perspective of computation and cryptography.

We'd like to announce the next Q+ hangout and hope to see you there!

As usual, we will reserve space in the hangout itself for those watching as a group. Comment below to reserve a seat. The talk will be livestreamed for everyone else.

The Quantum Science and Technologies Group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Louisiana State University invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position of two years duration. The position is open to those having an active interest and track record of publication in theoretical aspects of quantum information science, such as quantum information theory, quantum error correction, quantum computational complexity theory, or quantum optical communication.

2-year Government of Ireland postdoctoral fellowships are now available, see

I would be interested in hosting/supporting a postdoctoral fellow working in Quantum Random Walks and/or Quantum Game Theory. The deadline is soon! Please email michael.mcgettrick@nuigalway.ie to explore possibilities.

PhD opportunities in Quantum Random Walks and Quantum Game Theory. Deadline is very soon! (March 12 2013). Please email immediately michael.mcgettrick@nuigalway.ie if you may be interested.

PhD must be applied for through the Irish Research Council: http://www.irchss.ie/scheme/irish-research-council-government-ireland-po...

Two 16 month theoretical postdoctoral positions in the topic of noisy quantum information processing are opening at the Department of Mathematics in Brunel University, west London, to start in summer 2013.

Applications are invited for postdoctoral positions in the group of Andris Ambainis at the Faculty of Computing, University of Latvia. Our research group is interested in the following research topics:
- quantum algorithms and complexity theory;
- quantum communication, quantum information theory and cryptography;
- connections between quantum computing and classical computer science;
- using ideas from quantum information to study physical systems (quantum Hamiltonian complexity).
