The joint YQIS conference and CoQuS Summer School takes place from 17 - 21 of September 2018 and is organised by and for early stage researchers.
The purpose of this year’s special combination of the 4th edition of the YQIS Conference and the 11th edition of the CoQuS Summer School is twofold. Firstly, we offer introductory lectures by leading researchers in theoretical and experimental quantum physics to an audience of local and international master and PhD students as well as postdocs. Additionally, this gathering facilitates stimulating discussions between the students and visiting researchers based on scientific oral and poster presentations by the early stage researchers and the invited speakers.
For this 2018 edition, we would like to address the following topics:
- Quantum Foundations
- Technologies for Quantum Information Processing
- Quantum Simulation and Computation
- Quantum Thermodynamics and Open Systems
- Quantum Communication and Cryptography
The Vienna Doctoral Program on Complex Quantum Systems (CoQuS) acts as a training center for more than 50 early stage researchers who are selected from an international pool of applicants, based on their academic excellence, scientific success and ambition. Over the past 11 years, highly distinguished international experts have been invited to the annual CoQuS Summer School to give introductions into ground-breaking theoretical concepts and experimental approaches in fundamental and applied quantum science.
The International Conference for Young Quantum Information Scientists (YQIS) is organised by young researchers for young researchers (Doctoral and Post-Doctoral fellows). It covers both theoretical and experimental topics ranging from foundations of Quantum Information to Applied Quantum Systems. The series of conferences was initiate by A. Aspect and S. Tanzilli to promote pedagogical actions towards young researchers.
