Title: Postdoctoral Fellowships in quantum computing/information at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC)
Multiple postdoctoral positions are available at the Institute of Fundamental and Frontier Science (IFFS), University of Electronic Science and Technology China (UESTC) located in Chengdu, China. We are looking for highly qualified candidates to participate in a research project to develop applications for near term quantum computing devices. Open positions for candidates who are broadly interested in the area of theoretical quantum information/computing are also available. Candidates who are broadly interested in the area of quantum information and computing are encouraged to apply.
The positions are initially for two years, but can be renewed for up to six years depending on research performance. Some suggested research topics may include: (i) NISQ algorithms, (ii) Quantum metrology, (iii) Nonclassical quantum resource theories, and (iv) Quantum information of complex many-body systems. This list is not intended to be exhaustive and candidates with other research interests are also welcome. Hired postdoctoral researchers are highly encouraged to form their own research directions and collaborate with both local and international researchers.
Eligibility Criteria:
a) Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Quantum Physics or a related field.
b) Ability to speak and write English is necessary for this role.
c) Applicants have to be less than 35 years old.
We offer:
i) A two year contract, which is renewable up to a maximum of six years.
ii) Opportunities for career progression into a permanent researcher position.
iii) Salary from 200,000 yuan to 350,000 yuan (about 20,000 USD to 50,000 USD) per annum. Graduates from top universities worldwide can apply for a fellowship which brings the total salary up to 400,000 yuan per annum. Please enquire if you are eligible for this fellowship.
iii) A variable bonus that depends on research performance.
iv) Free/subsidized housing near campus available.
v) 10,000 yuan yearly travel subsidy to travel back to your home country (for non-chinese citizens).
