Humboldt Postdoc Fellowship in Quantum Information Theory (Siegen/Germany)

Job type:

Application deadline:

Sunday, June 16, 2024

For our group at the University of Siegen (Germany) we are looking for a motivated postdoc
in the field of quantum information theory, foundations of quantum theory, and quantum optics.
The group is led by four PIs (Otfried Gühne, Matthias Kleinmann, Stefan Nimmrichter and Ramona Wolf) and the research topics include:

  • theory of multiparticle entanglement, quantum networks, and quantum steering,
  • foundations of quantum mechanics and generalized probabilistic theories,
  • thermodynamics of open quantum systems and quantum thermal machines,
  • quantum cryptography

The position is created within the Henriette Herz Programme of the Humboldt foundation, which allows our group to select directly Humboldt postdoctoral fellows, without further application or reviewing procedures. The candidates must fulfill the formal criteria of Humboldt fellows, the main being that the PhD was finished less than 4 years ago (an application before finishing the PhD is possible) and they should not have spent more than 6 months in Germany in the last years. Since the Henriette Herz Programme aims to boost the percentage of women amongst the fellowship-recipients, applications of women are especially encouraged.

Applicants are expected to have a significant research record in a relevant field. For further information, please see our webpage or contact us directly via email. The deadline for applications is June 16th, 2024, but later applications may also be considered.
