5. Qualifications
(1) Applicants should hold a Ph. D. degree equivalent to Ph. D. or be expected to have it by the hired date.
(2) Applicants should have a strong motivation to conduct research in the theoretical field of quantum information science or its related fields.
(3) Applicants should have enough Japanese or English skills to carry out their teaching and research.
(4) Applicants should be responsible for some Japanese operational and administrative tasks.

(3) List of research publications (List categorized as refereed journal articles, refereed international conference papers, books, non-refereed articles, commentaries, patents, awards, competitive external funding (specify period, amount, principal investigator and co-investigator), press, etc.)。The names of all co-authors should be filled in. Mark the papers listed in (4).
(4) List of up to 5 major peer-reviewed papers (For papers published in peer-reviewed journals, indicate IF=Impact Factor, SNIP=Source Normalized Impact per Paper, SJR=Scientific Journal Rankings, and the number of cited references (also indicate databases consulted), if available. The number of cited references (including the databases consulted) should be indicated. For peer-reviewed international conference papers, provide the conference h5-index, CORE rank, acceptance rate, and number of cited references (also indicate the databases consulted), if known).
(5) Up to 4 representative books or papers (photocopies are acceptable)
(6) List of educational achievements (past courses taught, TA experience, awards received by supervised students, student teaching experience, etc.)

8. Selection Process
The submitted materials will be reviewed in the first screening. Interviews and presentations will be conducted as necessary on September 20, 2024, planning. Travel and other expenses incurred to attend the interview and presentation will be the applicant's responsibility. Online interviews and presentations are negotiable.

9. Terms of Appointment
Five years. Applicants can apply for a review to be tenured.

11. Scheduled Date of Appointment
As soon as possible after April 1, 2025

12. Working Conditions
Annual salary scheme to be compliant with Provisions and Regulations of University of Tsukuba.
Working hours: 8:30 – 17:15 (1 hour break), 7 hours and 45 minutes per day, 5 days per week (Monday through Friday), based on a specialized flexible working hours system applied.
Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and dates designed by University of Tsukuba.
Social insurance: National Public Service Mutual Aid Association, Employees’ Pension Insurance, Employment Insurance, and Workers’ Accident Compensation Insurance.
Various systems: Commuting allowances are provided in accordance with the University's regulations.
Measures to prevent passive smoking: No smoking inside campus.
The working place shall be on Tsukuba Campus (located at 1-1-1, Tennodai, Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan).
