We are hiring two experimental postdocs within the Quantum Light and Matter group at Durham, split between Prof. Simon Cornish and Dr. Alex Guttridge, working on hybrid ultracold molecule-Rydberg atom systems in optical tweezer arrays.
The positions cover two related directions that build on our recent work:
Using Rydberg atoms for non-destructive molecule detection and entanglement (proof-of-principle: https://journals.aps.org/prl/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevLett.131.013401).
Developing new quantum sensors with tweezer arrays of atoms and molecules (related work: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-024-08365-1).
The latter is part of a UK-Canada collaboration, including a researcher exchange program with the University of Waterloo.
International applicants are encouraged to apply and will be eligible for the Durham University Visa Reimbursement Scheme.
