We are happy to announce the availability of PhD positions at the University of Nottingham in the area of Quantum Technologies / Ultracold Mixtures. We are working on two exciting projects in our lab, one is an atom-photon interface with Caesium atoms based on an atom chip structure, the other one is on ultracold Bose-Fermi mixtures using Lithium-6 and Caesium-133 atoms. Opening for a PhD about the quantum many body problem
under the supervision of Dr. Luca Tagliacozzo
in the CNQO group of the
Department of Physics at the University of Strathclyde.

In the group of Prof. Uwe R. Fischer at Seoul National University a position is open in the field of many-body physics with cold quantum gases. Candidates capable of using the numerical method MCTDHB are strongly preferred. Possible topics include fragmented condensate many-body states and hybrid systems like cold atoms interacting with superconductors, with quantum information applications. Initial appointment is for one year with a possible extension to two years. Salary is according to the Korean postdoc scale.

Fixed term.

The project is to carry out research on the equilibrium and out-of-equilibrium properties of many-body system, for example cold atomic gases, quantum optical systems or classical colloidal systems. One focus will be on the study of the emergence of correlated states and collective phenomena in the presence of dissipation and/or (coherent) driving.
