Postdoc Opening: Experimental Polariton Photonics & Neuromorphic Computing

The Center for Theoretical Physics PAS (CTP PAS) in Warsaw is seeking a
Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Q-ONE project,
focusing on experimental polariton-based neuromorphic computing.

The research combines nonlinear optics, semiconductor physics and artificial intelligence,
with an emphasis on exciton-polariton systems and optical information processing.

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in quantum information and quantum machine learning, and topological data analysis, funded by JST ASPIRE. The successful candidate will work with Ryu Hayakawa on quantum-enhanced feature design and algorithm development, with connections to topological data analysis and quantum computational complexity theory.

The position is based at the Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics, Kyoto University, and includes international collaboration with researchers in the Netherlands.

Dr Zhenyu Cai’s research group in the Department of Computing seeks a highly motivated and exceptionally talented quantum theorist to lead projects aimed at developing a full-stack approach to suppressing errors in quantum hardware. This research focuses on achieving practical quantum computation by integrating techniques ranging from hardware-level noise suppression, quantum error mitigation, all the way to full fault-tolerant computation.

This is a 36-month position with a competitive salary of £50,733 - £59,484 per annum.
