In this EPSRC-funded position, you will specialise in developing the theory of the dynamics and thermodynamics of open quantum systems beyond weak-coupling regimes, with application to solid-state and molecular systems.
The school aims to provide a broad overview of different implementations of quantum information processing and quantum simulation enabled by recent progress in nanotechnologies. I'm looking for a candidate to apply with for this competition, with a deadline on 1st of March, and an aim to start their PhD in Autumn. My group currently consists of four PhD students and one PostDoc. Aberystwyth is a beautiful seaside town in Wales with lots of nature around. The fellowship will pay for home/EU fees and provide a stipend for living costs for 3 years. The application involves a research plan which should overlap with my research interests in quantum control, open systems and quantum information.
