Postdoctoral Position in “Quantum Simulation and Many-Mody Physics with light”

The position is at the group led by Dimitris Angelakis in the Centre for Quantum Technologies Singapore. We are looking for highly motivated candidates with a strong research background in quantum optics and quantum physics in general. Exceptional candidates from condensed matter theory (especially from strongly correlated and/or topological quantum systems) and/or quantum information will also be considered)

The Fifth Quantum Thermodynamics Conference takes place in Oxford from 13-17 March 2017 (suggested arrival on 12 March). The conference itself will be held at the Oxford Martin School with accommodation provided by St Edmund Hall.

The conference covers theory and experiments related to thermodynamics of quantum systems, information thermodynamics, thermalisation and equilibration, foundations of thermodynamics, and quantum heat engines.

For full details of the application procedure, please see
http://www.research.ie/scheme/government-ireland-postgraduate-scholarship-scheme-2017.
Before applying, please make contact with Dr. M. Mc Gettrick at michael.mcgettrick@nuigalway.ie,
http://www.maths.nuigalway.ie/~gettrick/, to
discuss research topics.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work with the PDs and SCPs on CQuIC’s core research interests, to develop new research directions for CQuIC’s research portfolio, to pursue independent lines of research, and to participate in managing center-wide activities. A successful applicant will become a CQuIC Postdoctoral Fellow, with a contract for one year and the expectation that the appointment will be renewed for two additional years upon satisfactory performance.

Supervisors: Pablo Arrighi (Professor), Giuseppe Di Molfetta (Associate Professor).

Contact details: pablo.arrighi@univ-amu.fr or giuseppe.dimolfetta@lif.univ-mrs.fr

Place: Laboratoire d’Informatique Fondamentale (LIF), Natural Computing team (CaNa).
