Position open for a 2-year postdoc in the group “Quantum Dynamics and Control” lead by Aurelia Chenu at the University of Luxembourg. Starting date is flexible. See our group at chenulab.com
The postdoc fellow will be working on dynamics of non-Hermitian quantum systems. The applicant should be a creative and motivated researcher with knowledge of one or all of the following:
- many-body physics
- quantum optics
- quantum dynamics
- stochastic processes
In addition, they should have
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills;
• A high-quality PhD in Theoretical Physics;
• Solid knowledge of Quantum Mechanics;
• Good written and oral skills in English.
Your possible role: develop and characterize master equation for the description of open quantum systems. 1. develop a simplified derivation of the commonly used master equation in the wave function picture 2. develop a master equation for all coupling strengths. 3. Characterize new master equations. You should be inclined towards analytical analysis, although numerics will be equally developed during the project. Mastering description of a many-body quantum systems and tools from quantum optics is an asset. You will be closely interacting with one PhD student.
