The Lewis-Swan atomic, molecular, and optical physics(AMO) theory group at the Center of Quantum Research and Technology (University of Oklahoma) invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher working on theoretical problems in quantum simulation and many-body non-equilibrium physics. Topics of interest will include dynamical phase transitions, entanglement, quantum coherence and information scrambling. The research will focus on spin-boson and spin models and their realization in AMO quantum simulators, such as those ranging from spinor Bose gases to cavity-QED and trapped-ion platforms.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Physics or related area. Experience with dynamical phase transitions, quantum simulation and/or many-body dynamics is favorable, as is a background of collaboration with experimental groups. The appointment is for up to three years, contingent on satisfactory performance and continued funding. The start date for the appointment is flexible, with potential to start immediately. Compensation for the position is competitive, with additional funding for travel available.
To apply, please send an application package to drbobsamo.jobs@gmail.com, containing a cover letter, curriculum vitae (including publications), brief statement of research interests and plans (up to two pages). You should include contact information for three letters of reference in your cover letter.
