We are seeking qualified applicants for teaching and research in the area of solid state devices for quantum networking and corresponding systems. The starting date is as soon as possible. The candidate must have proven experimental research accomplishments in the area of quantum information devices or systems.
The work of the candidate should strengthen the Cluster of Excellence "Matter and Light for Quantum Computing" (ML4Q) and the research program on quantum information processing at RWTH Aachen University and Forschungszentrum Jülich, with a focus on working towards advanced quantum networks, involving qubit-based processor nodes. Areas of interests ought to include, but are not limited to qubit-photon interfaces, quantum wave-length conversion, quantum memories, quantum repeaters and system aspects.
Participation in teaching activities in experimental physics on all levels is required. Participation in academic self-administration is expected.
The requirements include a doctoral degree and additional research experience, such as a habilitation (post-doctoral lecturing qualification) or equivalent achievements gained as a university researcher or professor or in a research position outside academia. Ability in and commitment to teaching are essential. The application should include supporting documents regarding success in teaching. German is not necessary to begin but will be expected as a teaching language within the first 5 years.
