Lecturer in Mathematics
Salary is in the range £39,146 to £46,300 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
The Department of Mathematics is recruiting a lecturer to further strengthen its quantum dynamics group. We are looking in particular for applicants who work in quantum information theory, but we will give serious consideration to all applicants who will be able to interact with members of the quantum dynamics group. The group's research interests include atomic theory, quantum chaos and quantum graphs, as well as different aspects of quantum information.
The Department currently offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Mathematics and postgraduate qualifications in Information Security. The appointee will be expected to make a contribution across the full range of departmental activities. In particular, duties and responsibilities of this post include: conducting research projects; producing high quality research outputs for publication in recognised high profile journals; contributing to the department’s REF submission to a significant level; delivering high quality teaching to all levels of students.
The successful candidate will be expected to have a PhD in a relevant subject, to be a self-motivated researcher, and to have a strong record of publications in high-quality journals. You will have excellent communication and presentation skills, with the proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with students, colleagues, and external audiences.
