We are looking for a highly qualified applicant to carry out research in the Cooperative Quantum Phenomena group at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light in Erlangen, Germany (https://mpl.mpg.de/research-at-mpl/independent-research-groups/genes-res...). The research project will be carried out in close collaboration with J. Prof. Jamir Marino, head of the NEUQUAM group at the JGU Mainz, Germany (https://sites.google.com/view/nequantumuniv/jobs). The research directions are strongly integrated within the Collaborative Research Centre Transregio (TRR 306) QuCoLiMa (Quantum Cooperativity of Light and Matter, https://www.qucolima.de).
Planned research
The research is at the boundary of quantum optics and condensed matter and aims at the study of many body physics in open system dynamics with engineered dissipative behavior. In particular, the focus is on the dynamics of excitations on two dimensional subwavelength quantum emitter arrays.
Your qualifications
Background in either quantum optics or condensed matter or both
PhD degree in physics
