Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to contribute to our theoretical efforts in the control of hybrid quantum systems comprising superconducting circuits, trapped ions, and levitated particles and their applications in quantum technologies. The successful candidate will work closely with other team members, broader team of Prof. Radim Filip at Palacký University, the group of Prof. Pavel Zemánek at the Institute of Scientific Instruments, Czech Academy of Sciences, and a network of interactional collaborators.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct innovative theoretical research in hybrid quantum systems,
  • Develop and analyze theoretical models and protocols for efficient control of microwave cavity modes,
  • Collaborate with other team members, external collaborators, and experimental physicists,
  • Publish findings in top-tier scientific journals,
  • Present research at international conferences and seminars.

Ideal candidate profile

  • A recently awarded master’s degree in physics,
  • Experience with theoretical quantum optics and its mathematical techniques,
  • Proficiency in relevant computational methods, such as Python and QuTiP,
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
