Research Assistant (PhD position, m/f/d) - Photonic quantum system for high-dimensional information processing (Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 75 %) starting the January 1st 2022 for 3.5 years.
Responsibilities and duties
This project focuses on the design and implementation of integrated fiber-based high-dimensional photonic quantum systems using a time-frequency based approach for applications in information processing. The project includes the exploration of novel optical manipulation schemes in integrated devices.
Employment conditions
Applicants to the position must have a relevant Diploma or Master degree, for example in physics, optical technologies, photonics and optics, electrical engineering. The ideal candidate has a strong background in optics and photonics and quantum mechanics. Knowledge in quantum information science is desirable. The candidate should have the ability and willingness to work together with experts from a broad background in science and technology. In addition, very good communication skills in English, oral as weil as written, are expected.
Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d) - Glass-based waveguide circuits for quantum enhanced sensing (Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 100 %) starting January 1st 2022 for two years.
Responsibilities and duties
Within the Cluster of Excellence PhoenixD, this postdoc work focuses on the design, fabrication and implementation of glass-based waveguide circuits for quantum enhanced sensing. For further information, please contact Prof. M. Kues.

Applicants to the position must have a relevant Diploma or Master degree with a relevant doctorate, for example in physics, optical technologies, photonics and optics. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in optics, photonics and quantum science, supported by publications in international renowned journals and conference presentations. The candidate has already demonstrated the ability to work together with experts from a broad background in science and technology and brings an entrepreneur-like attitude. In addition, excellent communication skills in English, oral as weil as written, are expected.
