The Electronics Materials Branch at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) in Washington, DC, seeks candidates for post doctoral positions in the theory of solid implementations for quantum information. Areas of current interest include quantum dots and coupled quantum dots, photons and microcavities, NV centers in diamond, quantum gates and decoherence.
Candidates for post doctoral positions are also being sought in ab initio electronic calculations for semiconductor nanostructures, including graphene and carbon nanotubes, and in electronic, thermal, and in thermoelectric transport in nanostructures.
The Branch includes strong experimental programs in MBE growth and fabrication of semiconductor nanostructures, in the optical properties of nanostructures including quantum dots, in carbon nanotubes and graphene, and in nanoelectronics.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in physics. It is desirable that candidates are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, but others can also be considered. Resumes with research interests should be sent to theory-postdocs@ccs.nrl.navy.mil. Please include your name in the filenames of files sent. Applications will be accepted on a continuing basis until the position is filled. The Naval Research Laboratory is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
NRL operates as the Navy's full-spectrum corporate laboratory, conducting a broadly based multidisciplinary program of scientific research and advanced technological development.
