A two-and-a-half year postdoc position in theoretical quantum computation/mathematical physics is available at the Graduate School of Informatics, Nagoya University, in Nagoya, Japan. The position is funded by the MEXT-JSPS Grant-in-Aid for Transformative Research Areas (B) “Dynamic control of anyons toward novel information technologies”.
Research topic: The successful candidate will work on any theoretical research topic related to topological quantum computation with non-abelian anyons. The candidate will be offered possible collaborations with other experimental groups in the project, such as Prof. Hashisaka at ISSP Tokyo University or Dr. Yoshioka at NTT Basic Research Laboratories.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in physics, mathematics or engineering. Motivated candidates with research expertise in related fields such as quantum computing, mathematical physics, and theoretical aspects of fractional quantum Hall effects are encouraged to apply. The candidate will join the quantum information theory group with Assistant Professor Kohtaro Kato at Nagoya University.
