Physics Department at Koç University invites applications for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher starting at the earliest possible date. The position is limited to 1 year with a possible extension.
Job description
The opening is within a junior research group led by Dr. Onur Pusuluk and is funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey. The successful candidate is expected to work on a project in collaboration with Prof. Özgür E. Müstecaplıoğlu from the Department of Physics, Prof. İ. Ersin Yurtsever from the Department of Chemistry, and Prof. Deniz Yüret from the Department of Computer Engineering. This interdisciplinary project, which was started two years ago, focuses on the quantum coherence and correlations possessed by the (bio)molecules within their chemical bonds and aims to reveal the resource value of molecular correlations from the standpoint of quantum information and quantum thermodynamics.
The net monthly salary of the position is 10k Turkish Liras.
Requirements
Applicants must have previous experience in at least one of the following frameworks
- post-Hartree-Fock quantum chemistry methods,
- tensor/neural network-based representation of quantum states,
- fermionic quantum information theory,
- open quantum systems theory,
- resource theory of quantum thermodynamics.
Furthermore, a completed Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline is expected.
Interested candidates should get in touch with Onur at onur.pusuluk@gmail.com.
