It has about 230 employees of which 90 are PhD students, many have been internationally recruited. The Department is part of the AlbaNova University Center, which apart from the Department of Physics houses the Department of Astronomy, the Physics Departments at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), and the Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics (Nordita).

Project description
One postdoctoral opening will be available for an outstanding individual to work on theoretical quantum optics. The group is especially interested in non-equilibrium quantum many-body systems like cold atoms in optical lattices or hybrid atom-light systems. The position is financed by the Swedish research council and the Knut and Alice Wallenberg foundation awarded to Jonas Larson.

Main responsibilities
The postdoctoral fellow will be carrying out high class research in the theory of quantum optics and general aspects of non-equilibrium quantum systems, in collaboration with Jonas Larson and students in the group.

Qualification requirements
Postdoctoral positions are appointed primarily for purposes of research. Applicants are expected to hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.
