Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, announces a postdoctoral position in the field of theoretical quantum optomechanics. The main goal of the project is connecting the most recent developments in quantum optomechanics and trapped quantum systems with the field of estimation theory and quantum sensing.
The estimation part will be developed with Dr. László Ruppert, and the optomechanics in collaboration with the group of Prof. Radim Filip (http://muj.optol.cz/filip/), and through that with some of the leading experimental groups in the Czech Republic, Austria and Denmark.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in physics or a relevant field of study, ideally have a strong background in theoretical quantum physics and be capable of efficiently communicating in English. The appointed contract period is up to the end of 2021, with a monthly salary of 40,000-50,000 CZK before tax. The start date of the contract can be agreed upon, the summer or autumn of 2019 is preferable. Evaluation of the applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
