Postdoctoral position in Quantum Information Theory

Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, announces a postdoctoral position in the field of quantum information theory. Applicants are welcome with a background in either of the following (or related) fields:
- estimation theory,
- metrology/sensing,
- quantum communication,
- quantum cryptography,
- quantum optomechanics,
- interferometry with active elements.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in physics or a relevant field of study, ideally have a strong background in theoretical quantum physics and be capable of efficiently communicating in English. The appointed contract period is up to the end of 2021 (with a possibility of extension), with a monthly salary of 40,000-50,000 CZK before tax (that is, up to ca. 2,000 EUR/month, with considerably lower living costs than in Western Europe). The start date of the contract can be agreed upon, the beginning of 2020 is preferable.

The work will be done in collaboration with the group of Prof. Radim Filip (http://muj.optol.cz/filip/colaborations.html), which offers great conditions for conducting research in terms of the surrounding international group of talented researchers, the locally available infrastructure, as well as international collaborations. Furthermore, the beautiful city of Olomouc (http://bit.do/eU2vn) is a great place to live, for lovers of sports, nature, food and history alike.
