The Faculty of Sciences at H.I.T. –Holon Institute of Technology (Israel) invites applications for postdoctoral positions in mathematical and theoretical physics funded by the Israel Science Foundation. The successful candidate will be involved in the projects on

☐ quantum chaos theory in many-body systems, led by Dr. Boris Gutkin;
☐ random matrix theory and quantum chaos, led by Prof. Eugene Kanzieper.

Previous research record in semiclassical physics, dynamical systems and random matrix theory is an advantage, strong analytical skills is a must. The initial appointment will be for one year with a possibility of an extension for two additional years depending on performance and available funds. Qualified candidates with a PhD degree in mathematical or theoretical physics or mathematics are encouraged to submit a letter of motivation, curriculum vitae, list of publications, and contact information of three referees to Dr. Boris Gutkin [borisgu (at) hit (dot) ac (dot) il] and/or Prof. Eugene Kanzieper [eugene (dot) kanzieper (at) hit (dot) ac (dot) il].

Starting date is negotiable. Applications will be considered until the position is filled.

The H.I.T. Mathematical Physics group is a part of the Mathematics Department. It counts five staff members and three postdoctoral associates whose research focuses on quantum chaos and dynamical systems, number theory and random matrices, string theory and quantum cohomology. The group enjoys a lively research environment of colloquia and seminars in mathematics, physics, mathematical physics and geometric function theory, along with numerous research workshops and conferences.
