Application deadline:
Sunday, December 31, 2017

The University of Toronto Theory of Computation group invites applications for postdoctoral positions in quantum computing and quantum information starting in Fall 2018. Topics of interest within quantum information science include: algorithms, complexity theory, optimization, information theory, and cryptography. We prefer candidates that have a computer science/mathematics background, but all excellent candidates will be considered.

Postdoctoral associates will be affiliated with the Theory of Computation group, but are encouraged to collaborate with quantum information faculty from other departments. The University of Toronto is home to the Center for Quantum Information and Quantum Control (CQIQC), which is comprised of a number of faculty in both experimental and theoretical areas of quantum information science. Additionally, the Institute for Quantum Computing and the Perimeter Institute in Waterloo are close by.

The positions are for one year, renewable to two years. Candidates must possess a PhD and give evidence of outstanding research potential. Applications, including the recommendation letters, should be submitted by December 31, 2017; late applications will be considered until the positions are filled.

Applicants should send a CV, research statement, and arrange for at least three letters of recommendation to be emailed to Theory of Computation Group at postdocapp@cs.toronto.edu.
