Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate position at Aberystwyth University. The successful candidate will work on an EPSRC funded project on theoretic methods applied to quantum control, and will work with the Quantum Open Systems and Control research group at Aberystwyth.
The applicant should hold a PhD in Mathematics (or a related subject) at the start of the appointment, and should be able to demonstrate a strong research record (or the potential to develop a strong record for early career applicants). Ideally we are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with a background in operator theory, or quantum stochastic processes and quantum control.
The post is funded by an EPSRC grant to Aberystwyth University, and the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the activities related to this grant.

The anticipated starting date is 1st September 2009, or as soon as possible thereafter. The post is a fixed-term contract for 36 months.
