We are seeking a talented Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to work with Prof. Roger Colbeck on quantum random number generators (QRNGs). The project will either involve studying current commercial or near-commercial QRNGs with a view to accurately assess the amount of quantum randomness they can produce, or investigating the best way to make device-independent QRNGs more practical. This is a theoretical project that will involve interaction with experimental groups and/or commercial partners.
The successful candidate will be based in the Department of Mathematics at the University of York and connected either to the AQuRand project http://www.aqurand.org/ or the Quantum Communications Hub https://www.quantumcommshub.net/ This is a full-time position with a fixed term of one year.
