Job type:

Application deadline:

Thursday, May 30, 2019

The Group led by Prof. Radim Filip at Palacky University (http://muj.optol.cz/filip/) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher in quantum parameter estimation with quantum non-Gaussian states of light and matter allowing error correction strategies. Expertise with non-Gaussian and nonlinear quantum optics, quantum cavity/circuit electrodynamics and physics of trapped atoms/ions will be valued, but an open-minded researcher ready for a new challenge is most welcome.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in physics and ideally have a strong background in theoretical quantum physics and quantum technologies. He/she is expected to closely collaborate with a Korean group led by Prof. Hyunseok Jeong at Seoul National University (http://cmqc.snu.ac.kr) inside the joint project and with a Danish group led by Prof. Ulrik Andersen at Danish Technical University (https://www.fysik.dtu.dk/english/research/qpit) at the experimental side. He will have opportunities for a possible experimental realisation by optical and trapped ion experiments in Palacky University in Olomouc, DTU at Lyngby as well at other places.

The monthly salary is 40,000-50,000 czk before tax, and the appointed contract period is June 1. 2019 - December 31, 2021. Start of the contract can be postponed until July 1, 2019.

Evaluation of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Informal enquiries may be addressed to Prof. Filip (filip@optics.upol.cz), Prof. Jeong (jeongh@snu.ac.kr), Prof. Marek (marek@optics.upol.cz) or Dr. Park (kimpa@fysik.dtu.dk).

Interested candidates should email (i) a CV including a full list of publications together with (ii) a statement on their research experiences, interests and plans (within two pages) and (iii) a recommendation letter from the last position.

The application should be sent to filip@optics.upol.cz.
