Job type:

Application deadline:

Research group:

The quantum optics group (Prof. Martin Weitz) at the University of Bonn invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the field of ultracold atomic gases. Our group is among the worldwide few groups realizing quantum gases of rare earth element atoms. The postdoc vacancy is in a laboratory in which we using an atomic erbium Bose-Einstein condensate are working to realize fractional quantum Hall physics with a well-controlled cold atom system.

For more information on our research, see our website. We are looking for candidates with an excellent PhD in the field of experimental quantum/AMO physics. The position is offered for two years, with an extension being possible. For candidates a few years after PhD in principle the position could also be filled on a senior scientist level. Applicants should email their application to: martin.weitz (at) uni-bonn (dot) de, including a cover letter, curriculum vitae, publication list, and names and contact addresses of three references.

The University of Bonn is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Preferences will be given to a suitably qualified woman or persons with disabilities, all other considerations being equal.
