The newly established group of Prof. Marko Rancic is looking to hire a postdoctoral position for an initially shorter duration of 9 months. The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.

The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) at the University of Luxembourg contributes multidisciplinary expertise in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences and Medicine. Your role

- We are seeking a highly-motivated Postdoctoral Fellow in Quantum Computing for studying Phase Transitions
- To this end, one postdoctoral fellow will be hired on the project to conduct the following tasks:
- Perform research in the domain of quantum computing applied to phase transitions
- Perform teaching activities in his/fields of expertise at bachelor, master and PhD levels (max 90 hours/year)-
- Help applications to third party funding
- Provide other support

Your profile

- PhD degree in Computer Science, Physics or Physical Chemistry
- Advanced knowledge in the field of Quantum Computing
- Knowledge of Python
- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Availability and willingness to travel overseas at least two times
- Full professional proficiency in English
- Willingness to start working in the near future

Good to have:
- Intermediate to advanced know how in the fields of theoretical quantum optics or condensed matter physics
- Knowledge of quantum computing SDKs such as Qiskit or Pennylane
