The Ultrafast Quantum Photonics Group at the National Research Council (NRC) pursues novel approaches to the development and applications of light-matter interfaces in photonic quantum information processing. Job Description
We are seeking an optical physicist with interest in quantum memories and their impact on communications, computing, and sensing. The ideal candidate should have a PhD in experimental quantum optics, nonlinear optics, or other related field and be able to show examples of exceptional skill or talent in this field. We are particularly interested in candidates with prior experience in quantum memory development, fibre photonics, optical switches, and upscaling photonic technologies. The new Research Associate will drive forward our experimental research on quantum frequency conversion and fibre quantum memories.
Benefits
NRC offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The successful candidate will join as a Research Associate at the RCO-2/AsRO level, which is an early career position. Salary determination will be based on a review of the candidate’s expertise, outcomes, and impacts of their previous work experience relative to the requirements of the level. As a guide, the current annual recruiting rate for new PhD graduates is C$74,230.
