A position exists for a Research Assistant/Associate in the Department of Engineering to work within the Quantum Communications Hub and in particular to work on the Continuous Variable Quantum Key Distribution system.

The post holder will be located in the Department of Engineering's Electrical Division Building in West Cambridge.

The key responsibilities and duties are to design and develop software for real time data generation, processing and error correction through multicore CPU, GPU and FPGA programming. The qualifications required to perform the role are to have obtained or be close to obtaining a PhD in Computer Science, Physics or a relative discipline. Candidates with industrial exposure in software and hardware skills are also eligible to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated software aptitude in relevant areas of research and an ability to work within a team.

Salary Range: Research Assistant: £25,298 - £30,175; Research Associate: £30,175 - £38,183

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 24 months in the first instance.
