Research Associate in Quantum Coherance in Non-equilibrium Light Matter Systems

Full Time : The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £32,699 - £39,523 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

The main aim of this project is to explore novel emergent phenomena in far from equilibrium quantum systems with a particular focus on light-matter systems such as microcavity polaritons, circuit and cavity QED systems. This theoretical project will be linked to the experiments of the EPSRC project partners.

The position is funded for 2 years in the first instance.

The successful applicants will have a PhD in Physics and expertise in either of theoretical condensed matter physics, quantum optics or information, cold atoms or a closely related area. They should have a thorough understanding of quantum mechanics of many particle systems and mastery of analytical/numerical tools used to model quantum systems.

Candidates should also have excellent written and verbal communication.

Knowledge of non-equilibrium techniques such as Keldysh Field Theory, Master Equations or Stochastic Methods is desirable.
